Beginner

Most children play their first recognisable piece within a few lessons — and that moment of joy is where the real journey begins. This course is designed for absolute beginners of all ages, on piano or keyboard. Lessons are gentle and structured: students get comfortable with the instrument, develop good posture and hand technique, and begin reading music in a way that feels achievable rather than daunting. Simple, satisfying pieces run alongside the basics of rhythm, scales, and chords. By the end of the course, students are confidently prepared for their first graded exam (Trinity, ABRSM, or Royal School of Music Grade 1) — and, more importantly, they genuinely look forward to practising.

Intermediate

For students who already have a solid musical foundation, the intermediate course offers a dynamic next step in their journey. Here, learners explore the rich and expressive potential of both piano and keyboard playing, with a deeper dive into music theory, performance technique, and artistic interpretation. Lessons focus on developing fluency in hands-together coordination, introducing arpeggios and broken chord patterns, and expanding the student's understanding of phrasing and stylistic nuance. As students tackle more challenging repertoire from classical favourites to contemporary selections they also build confidence in public performance, preparing for both recitals and mid-level certifications such as Grade 4 and Grade 5 exams. This course is designed to empower students with the skills and mindset needed to perform with accuracy, expression, and a growing personal voice.

Advanced

This course is tailored for advanced students who are ready to refine their craft and pursue excellence at the highest levels. Whether working toward a Grade 8 exam or preparing for diploma-level qualifications such as the ATCL, learners are guided through an intensive and rewarding programme focused on mastery. Emphasis is placed on high-level technique including advanced scale work, voicing, pedalling, and finger control as well as stylistic interpretation across multiple genres. Students will build a polished performance repertoire, sharpen their sight-reading and aural skills, and cultivate a commanding stage presence. Each lesson is crafted to not only push technical boundaries but also deepen musical expression and confidence. By the end of this course, students emerge as mature, independent musicians, equipped for conservatoire entry, competitive performances, or a lifelong journey of musical growth.

Music Aptitude Test Preparation

This specialised programme equips students with the full range of skills assessed in music aptitude evaluations. The course provides structured training in pitch recognition, melodic and rhythmic differentiation, texture awareness, and accurate repetition of short sung or clapped patterns. As these assessments emphasise natural musical responsiveness rather than formal theory or graded performance, the curriculum focuses on developing strong aural perception, musical memory, coordination, and confident musical communication. The programme prepares candidates to approach the test with assurance, clarity, and a well-developed capacity to demonstrate genuine musical potential.

Additionally, students who wish to present solo piano pieces receive exclusive guidance, ensuring instrument-specific support without shifting the emphasis away from the core listening and response elements of the assessment.
